Farnham is a market town on the Hampshire/Surrey borders that has kept the spirit of it’s heritage in the architechtural styles of the town centre. It was the home of William Cobbett, the famous politician who campaigned for social reform in an age when it was not fashionable to do so. His birthplace is now a Farnham pub which bears his name. Cobbett rode throughout the countryside gathering facts about the living and working conditions of farm labourers and used this to support his arguments for social reform. Farnham is also home to Farnham Castle which played a major role in the English Civil War..
